Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Curiosity Road Technology Solutions Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"), which owns and operates 42dots, collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the website https://42dots.in, our WhatsApp and email quiz service, and any related services (together, the "Service").
We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, mobile number (including your WhatsApp number, if you choose WhatsApp delivery), and a display name.
- Preferences: how you want to receive quizzes (WhatsApp, email or web), your chosen level, and subjects of interest.
- Communications: anything you send us, such as support requests, question suggestions, or error reports.
Information created when you play
- Your quiz answers, scores, response times, streaks, badges, level, and leaderboard rank.
- Results of the Explore Level quizzes, which our system uses to recommend a level for you.
Payment information
Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay Software Private Limited. Your card, UPI, net-banking or wallet details are entered on Razorpay's secure checkout and are not stored on our servers. We receive only limited information from Razorpay, such as the transaction ID, amount, payment status, plan, and the last digits or type of payment method, so we can manage your subscription.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, referring pages, and date and time of access.
- Cookies and similar technologies, used to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used (see Section 6).
- WhatsApp and email delivery data, such as whether a message was delivered or opened.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and deliver your daily quiz on your chosen channel.
- To score your quizzes, track streaks and badges, recommend a level, and run weekend leaderboards.
- To process payments, manage your free trial and subscription, send invoices, and send renewal reminders.
- To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
- To send service messages (for example, changes to these terms or your plan). With your consent, we may also send updates and offers; you can opt out at any time.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and cheating, and comply with law.
- To understand usage and improve our quizzes and platform.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Leaderboards and public information
If you play at a level with a leaderboard (Levels 2, 4 and 5 on weekends), your display name, score and rank may be visible to other players. We do not show your email address or phone number publicly. You can change your display name in your account settings.
4. WhatsApp and email messages
We send quizzes on WhatsApp only if you opt in. We use the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., and your messages are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. You can stop WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP or changing your delivery preference in your account. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link.
5. Who we share your information with
We share personal data only as needed to run the Service, with:

These providers are bound to use your data only to provide services to us. If our business is merged or sold, your data may be transferred to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy. Some providers may store data outside India; where they do, we take reasonable steps to keep it protected.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and keep the Service working, and analytics cookies to understand how people use the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Service may not work without essential cookies.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we must keep certain records (such as payment and tax records) for the period required by law.
8. Security
We use reasonable security practices, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls, and trusted service providers, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data or your account;
- withdraw consent you have given (for example, for WhatsApp or marketing messages);
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance with us, and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

10. Children
42dots is designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Users under 18 years of age may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, and a parent or guardian must create the account and make any payment. We do not knowingly track, profile or send targeted advertising to children. If you believe a child has given us personal data without a parent's consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify you by email or WhatsApp.
